To celebrate the season of giving, we’ve been giving some of our friends small samples of our famous “Caliber Chrisp-Mix” as a way to say “Thank You,” “Happy Holidays,” and “Here, eat this.” We’ve had another good year here at the shop, and it wouldn’t be possible without everyone’s help. Just like last year, we’re sharing our recipe for this holiday mix of goodies in hopes you decide to make your own batch to share with your friends and family (unless they have a peanut allergy, then just stick with a candy cane).

Caliber Creative Chrisp-Mix Recipe:
Makes 1 gallon 0r about 20 cups, just enough to get through an episode of American Idol.

16 oz. Party Peanuts – Cocktail peanuts may be used, if you and you’re guests are all over the age of 21.
12 oz. Almonds; Roasted & Salted – Roasted almonds, not chestnuts. Does anyone eat roasted chestnuts?
19.2 oz. M&M’s – The green & red variety work best for the Christmas season, but the multi-colored assortment would be great for Easter.
11 oz. White Chocolate Chips – Sprinkle ‘em in like little tiny snowflakes!
11 oz. Butterscotch Chips – Not as popular as their relative the “potato” chip, but much, much sweeter.
12 oz. Craisins – Cran-berried raisins. It’s almost like a candy coating on a raisin.

We gladly accepted the challenge with the only parameter of it had to feel like an award from South Dakota, but still have an artsy flair. After considering multiple options and scenarios (some potentially dangerous), we finally landed on the final concept. A little rugged, yet refined. A little shiny, with some patina. It turned out to be a pretty cool little video, shot “low-fi” documentary style and without much polish, just like the people that keep America running strong. Check out the footage below.
